Ridley Scott’s Prometheus adds two more castmembers

Production is underway on Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS England, but the sci-fi thriller continues to cast up, adding actors Benedict Wong and Emun Elliott. Wong previously had an adventure in outer space when he appeared in Danny Boyle’s SUNSHINE (pictured above); meanwhile, Elliott was most recently seen in Christopher Smith’s BLACK DEATH.

The two actors join the previously announced Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Kate Dickey and Rafe Spall.

The source of this casting news, Alien Prequel News.com, also got an intriguing bit of alien-related info from an on-set source, which might clear up the “Is it an ALIEN prequel or isn’t it?” question that has hovered over this movie since its official announcement.

Via the source: “Though security on the set is very tight with the good weather, dock doors have been open and cast and crew have been enjoying lunch outdoors.
I can confirm seeing 3 aliens having lunch. Not the whole costume but blueish costumes and the unmistakable heads hanging around their shoulders”

When asked if these aliens resembled the xenomorphs we all know and love, the scooper responded with this: “The alien heads were the same shape but no markings, only a plane bronze colour. As for the suits black boots and shoulder pads the rest was a Chelsea blue body suit could be for SFX, all the sets around the back of the bond stage have huge green chromokey maybe that’s a clue.
I have witnessed foam cut outs of unmistakable aliens all cut in half lengh ways so they could be in the floor walls etc and very much from the original film.”

Interesting. Still, I’d love it if someone stepped forward with a definitive answer as to this movie’s relation to the classic series. We’ll find out next summer; PROMETHEUS is scheduled to open on JUNE 8, 2012.
