RIP Bob Clark

It’s with a heavy heart that I
report to you all today that Bob “Benjamin” Clark has

passed away
,  along with his son 22 year
old son Ariel when their vehicle was struck by another oncoming car.

Clark has always had a special place
in my household because of his films. Every Christmas my sisters and I watch
A CHRISTMAS STORY
, and not a summer goes by without a drunken PORKY’S
party at one of my buddies houses’.

Often when talking about horror
movies with my parents, they still mention how they would go to a small downtown
theatre where we live and see

BLACK CHRISTMAS
every year when it would play around the holidays. My
dad still claims its the scariest movie he’s ever seen. And I can still remember
the first time I watched  DEATH DREAM on late night cable TV when I
was 13, arguably one of the best late night cable movies that I’ve ever come
across.

It’s a terrible thing when anyone
dies in such a tragic way, and I truly believe the film world would be a better
place with more artists like Bob Clark. So I suggest today when you finish
reading this you go grab your favorite Bob Clark movie, which may be a difficult
decision in itself, and watch it as a tribute to Clark and the art form that he
held so dear.

All of us here at AITH send our
deepest condolences to Clark’s family and friends.
