RIP: Nightmare City & Cannibal Ferox director Umberto Lenzi

After recently losing such horror greats as Tobe Hooper and George A. Romero, it saddens us that we must pass on the news that NIGHTMARE CITY director Umberto Lenzi has passed away at age 86.

On top of directing NIGHTMARE CITY, Lenzi also directed such classics as EYEBALL (aka WIDE-EYED IN THE DARK), CANNIBAL FEROX, and GHOST HOUSE to name a few.

Currently, there doesn't seem to be a cause of death that has been released to the public. All the same, join us in saying a fond farewell to one of Italian exploitation-horror's greats.

If you had to pick, which Umberto Lenzi film would you say was your favorite? I'll let you pick 2 as I cannot pick only one myself. Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media.

NIGHTMARE CITY synopsis:

A TV reporter (Hugo Stiglitz) spreads the news of radioactive monsters, growing in number with every victim.

Umberto Lenzi was born in Massa Marittima, Italy August 6, 1931.

RIP UMBERTO LENZI
