Time to do a little happy dance because RISE, which already had a fun cast with Lucy Liu and Michael Chiklis, has added Ms. Carla Gugino according to Cinescape. She is slated to play the femme fatale named Eve, a key member of the undead gang that Liu’s waking up in a morgue bent on revenge reporter goes after.
Words, I feel, are not enough to express the affection I have for Gugino. I mean, yes, she’s hot, and she’s been kind enough to show us all aspects of that fabulous body. But in this rare instance, that’s not what does it. The most important thing to me is this woman has managed to convincingly play everything from TV’s Karen Sisco to a hooker who gets off hard when a guy does her in the keister – from the sassy mom in SPY KIDS to the usually naked lesbian parole officer in SIN CITY.
You just don’t find that kind of range very often. Imagine dropping Pacino or DeNiro into the father role in SPY KIDS. It doesn’t work. They can’t completely drop their edge. But somehow Carla makes it all flow effortlessly. Needless to say I’ll be one of the first in line to see RISE. And if you haven’t particularly noticed this stunning actress in the past, well you best start paying attention.
