Tubi has released the official trailer for R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, the upcoming sequel to last year’s R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead. The new movie once again brings the horror world inspired by R.L. Stine‘s The Haunting Hour to Redhaven, with a new Pumpkinhead curse threatening the town. And there’s an especially fun addition to the cast this time around: Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, plays a mysterious witch named Cassandra.
The sequel is set to premiere on Tubi on October 9, 2026, as part of the streaming service’s annual Terror on Tubi Halloween programming. You can watch the trailer in the embed above.
R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 follows Sam (Bean Reid) and Becka (Adeline Lo) as they try to stop a new Pumpkinhead curse from claiming the entire town of Redhaven. The sequel centers on Evan, a student who is dealing with bullies at school when he discovers a forbidden spellbook. His actions accidentally revive an ancient curse, leading the pumpkin-headed children of past sacrifices to rise again. With Redhaven’s Harvest Festival approaching, Sam and Becka must find a way to stop the curse before the entire town is claimed. Their search eventually brings them into contact with Cassandra, a mysterious witch played by Peterson. Cassandra is described as being deeply connected to ancient magic and possessing an understanding of the dark forces threatening Redhaven.
Peterson’s casting adds an extra layer of horror nostalgia to the sequel. The actress has spent decades entertaining horror fans as Elvira, while Stine’s books and television adaptations have introduced generations of younger readers and viewers to the genre.
Jem Garrard, who wrote and directed the first R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead, returns to write and direct the sequel. The movie is inspired by R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.
The returning cast includes Bean Reid as Sam and Adeline Lo as Becka, while the new cast includes Cassandra Peterson as Cassandra. The sequel also features Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez as Evan, Matty Finochio as Rusty, and Miles Phoenix Foley as Chad.
The first R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead introduced viewers to Sam, a teenager who moves to the town of Redhaven with his family. After his brother Finn disappears, Sam discovers that nobody else remembers Finn ever existing. Sam teams up with Becka and the town outcast Rusty to uncover the truth and stop the sinister harvest curse threatening the town.
