It was only 24 hours ago that I gave you all the latest casting announcement for Rob Zombie’s LORDS OF SALEM and here I am with yet another update on the flick’s cast. What a surprise.
There’s really no need to beat around the bush with this anymore. The newest name joining LORDS OF SALEM is the one and only Billy Drago. Scope out Zombie’s Facebook post regarding the casting:
“On we go! BILLY DRAGO has joined the growing cast of THE LORDS OF SALEM. BIlly takes on the role of Judge Samuel Mather a key player int he history of the Lords.
BIlly is best known for his roles in such films as Pale Rider, Freeway, The HIlls Have Eyes (2006) and The Untouchables. In addition to film he has also appeared in numerous TV show including : HIll Street Blues, T.J. Hooker The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr. and Walker, Texas ranger.”
So he’ll be playing a judge? I can roll with that. Not like we have a choice, right?
Heidi, a blonde rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the “Big H Radio Team”.
A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, “a gift from the Lords”. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords’ record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.
Later Whitey plays the Lords’ record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners.
The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H Team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting: the original Lords of Salem are returning, and they’re out for BLOOD.
Along with Drago the growing cast of LORDS OF SALEM includes Dee Wallace, Sheri Moon Zombie (below), Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges and Bruce Dern. No word on a solid release date for this thing just yet but filming is set to begin in just a couple weeks so expect a lot more LORDS OF SALEM updates in the near future.
