RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop documentary is getting sequels that cover RoboCop 2, 3, & TV series

The fan-funded, four-part docuseries RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop was acquired by Cinedigm last year, and the company gave it both a Blu-ray release (you can pick up a copy HERE) and a streaming release, through the Screambox streaming service. Directed by Chris Griffiths and Eastwood Allen, RoboDoc focuses primarily on the first RoboCop, but does give a nod to RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3. And if any fans were disappointed that the sequels didn’t get enough coverage, the makers of the documentary have shared some very cool news: RoboDoc is getting its own sequels, which will cover RoboCop 2, RoboCop 3, and even the RoboCop TV series!

The first follow-up will be called RoboDoc Season 2: RoboCop 2, and it’s already expected to be released sometime in late 2024. Then sometime not too far down the line we’ll get RoboDoc Season 3: RoboCop 3 and the TV Series. The video games and comic books will get some attention in there as well.

Coming to us from Dead Mouse Productions Ltd and Cult Screenings UK Ltd, RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop is a fully independent retrospective into the making of RoboCop and its cultural impact over the last 30 years. Supported by dozens of the original cast and crew, RoboDoc is made by fans of the movie for fans of the movie. The filmmakers conducted interviews with sixty-six cast and crew members when assembling the documentary.

Chris Griffiths described the project as a labor of love, while Eastwood Allen had this to say about the docuseries: “We’ve crafted something together to incorporate visuals and sound in an effort to immerse viewers into the world of 80s filmmaking and offer something completely unique to the ‘making of’ format.

Gary Smart produced RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop with Michael Perez and Hank Starrs. John Cashin, Gary Collins, Ben KB Ng, Fuad Omar, Aleksandar Smiljanic, Sean Tiedeman, and Laurence Gornall serve as executive producers.
