Rocco not inside

Yesterday, puppy-kicker Ammon reported on Marc Rocco being pegged as the director for the adaptation of Jim Thompson’s THE KILLER INSIDE ME. Well, the source for the story, Variety, kind of goofed on the initial report.

IGN revealed today that producer Chris Hanley, whose name was also mentioned in the story, dropped them a line soon after the article was postedto clarify just what the situation was. “This Variety article is the first I have heard the name Marc Rocco in association with my motion picture project KILLER INSIDE ME. I was not consulted at all by Variety, or by any of the people purporting to be financing or directing the movie in that article.”

Can you say, ‘Uh-oh, spaghetti-O’s?’ Hanley requested that Variety pull the story, and also told IGN that John Curran (THE PAINTED VEIL) has been in discussions to helm the adaptation. Stay tuned for the fallout/news on this one.
