Rogue likes Doomsday


A couple of guys I really like in the genre are teaming up for a futuristic action thriller called DOOMSDAY according to Variety. Pic will be helmed by Neil Marshall (DOG SOLDIERS, THE DESCENT). ‘Nuff said, right?

It is also the first pitch that Andrew Rona has championed since taking over as Rogue’s president of production.
You may remember Rona from Project Greenlight when he was still working for Dimension. The thing that I like about the guy is that he’s practical enough to realize a film needs to make money, but also seems to really want the artist to achieve their vision.

That’s a rare combo friends. Don’t believe me, just shoot The Arrow an email and ask him.

For now specifics on the flick are being kept sparse, but here’s what Rona did spill: “It’s in the vein of ‘Mad Max,’ set in the near future, when the world has become a very intense place to live. A disaster threatens the future of mankind, and a team of people have to stop it.”

So really not much, but I’m just happy that these two forces are partnering. Have no fear you’ll know more as more comes down the pike.

Now, speaking of things that make me happy…
