Romero’s Hill

Actually it’s STAUNTON HILL and it isn’t THAT Romero (George A. Romero), but his son, G. Cameron Romero. A bit of news coming in from Fangoria is that Romero’s STAUNTON HILL has just started shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

According to Fango, STAUNTON HILL is set in the hills of Virginia in the 1960s, and centers on a group of hikers who run afoul of the evil Staunton family. It is being directed by Romero and was written by Romero and David Rountree. It stars Kathy Lamkin (the Tea Lady in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Kiko Ellsworth, David Rountree, and Cooper Huckabee (THE FUNHOUSE).

Batpack Studios and Psychorock Productions are behind this one with Christofer J. Lombardo and BJ Hendricks producing. Some other crew include Andrew McLean as director of photography and Jason Ralph in charge of the music. G. Cameron Romero has just finished THE SCREENING, which is awaiting release.

According to THE SCREENING’s official MySpace, the synopsis is: A theater holds an underground screening of the “Borgia” films, a murderous family’s twisted idea of art. Art that hasn’t been shown since the jury convicted the last in the family bloodline. Rumors of that jury’s loss of sanity and the films being the cause bring attention to the event. An audience filled with morbidly curious patrons come from all over to see these alleged snuff films. Others come for different reasons. Some come looking for answers. Are the films real? Did the last people to see them go crazy? What will happen once the projector starts? It was directed by Romero and written by Romero, Kristian Hickman, Christofer Lombardo, and Mike Watt. It stars Matt Burns, Debbie Rochon (below), Patrick Jordan, Barret Hackney, Jeff Monahan, Anna Bridgforth, BJ Hendricks, Nikki McCrea, and Sam Nicotero. You can head to Batpack Studios’ official site to check out the trailer and some behind the scene clips over here. You can also check out THE SCREENING’s official website here and the official MySpace over here.

As you can see, not a whole lot known about STAUNTON HILL, but it just started, so we’ll let you know more about it as we hear it.
