Ron Howard begins shooting in Italy on Dan Brown’s Inferno with Tom Hanks

While we’re going to have to wait until December for Ron Howard‘s epic whale tale, IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, production has already begun on the third film in the Robert Langdon mystery series, INFERNO. The story finds Langdon (Tom Hanks) waking up in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with no memory of what has occurred for the last few days. With the help of Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor, and his knowledge of symbology, Langdon will try to escape a manhunt whilst trying to solve the most intricate riddle he’s ever faced. Filming started today in Venice, and you can check out some on-set pictures courtesy of Ron Howard.

Tom Hanks has seen some better days! While I can’t claim to be a fan of either THE DAVINCI CODE or ANGELS AND DEMONS, Hanks is always an actor worth watching and Ron Howard is no slouch in the director’s chair. Add to that the lovely Felicity Jones, who made some waves as Stephen Hawking‘s wife in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING, and will be playing a role in Gareth Edwards‘ upcoming STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY: ROGUE ONE, and it sounds like the third time might be the charm.

INFERNO will be released on October 14, 2016.
