Ron Howard spits some more about Dark Tower; Potential names to star?

Earlier this week filmmaker Ron Howard took the opportunity to talk about his upcoming opus THE DARK TOWER. Well it seems Howard wasn’t done!

It only took a couple days and here we are telling you about Howard’s new chat with the LA Times. What does the talented filmmaker spill on in this new interview? Why a mess of things of course, but most importantly some potential actors that we may be seeing join him on this epic adventure.

Alright to be fair Howard never really hints at any of these names… but he doesn’t scoff at them either. It seems formidable choices for THE DARK TOWER’s ‘Roland Deschain’ would include Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman, Jon Hamm and Viggo Mortensen. As you can see we’ve got ourselves a pretty impressive list that is most likely a win whichever way Howard and company decide to go. Then again it can be someone completely different… Only time will tell. In the meantime scope out a bit of Howard’s most recent interview with the LA Times:

“I really can’t stop thinking about it. We’ve been meeting and talking and I’ve been reading and researching and just kind of living with it. I’ve been constantly going through stuff and I’ve just been re-listening to it [on audio books] on my iPod and we’ve been sending e-mails back and forth, ‘What about this approach? What do you think of this idea?’ We’re finding the shape of it. We’re moving quickly now, as quickly as we can, and I feel challenged in the most exciting ways.”

To check out the whole article, which is definitely worth a look if you’re into this whole thing, head right over HERE. Plans are for THE DARK TOWER to hit theaters sometime in 2013 so hold on to your horses folks, we’ve got a ways to go!
