Ronda Rousey and Tina Fey to star in Do Nothing Bitches for Universal

There are plenty of classic partnerships throughout the history of comedy, Abbott and Costello, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, David Spade and Chris Farley, as well as many others, but we may be on the verge of witnessing the beginnings of the next great comedy team of our generation. Deadline reports that Universal has paid a high six-figures for a script from SISTERS scribe Paula Pell by the name of DO NOTHING BITCHES which will pair Tina Fey up with, wait for it, Ronda Rousey.

There's no official logline just yet, but Deadline hears that DO NOTHING BITCHES will be "a female-empowerment tale dealing with wealthy pampered wives who get a rude awakening at a camp where Rousey plays the no-nonsense instructor." The title and concept for the film originated from a video Ronda Rousey made last summer in which she described “Do Nothing Bitches” as women who “just try to be pretty and be taken care of by someone else.” Rousey is definitely trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood; just this past year she appeared in FURIOUS 7 and ENTOURAGE, and she already has several films lined up in which she'll be taking on a leading role, including a remake of ROAD HOUSE and a biopic based upon her own life where she'll be playing herself. How often does that happen?

While Ronda Rousey's filmography isn't all that large at the moment, I haven't exactly been won over by her acting ability. Perhaps Tina Fey will be able to help hone Rousey's comedic chops.
