Roseanne Barr, John Goodman & more to return for a TV revival of Roseanne

It's like we're living in some sort of TV revival wonderland. Over the past few years we've seen shows like The X-Files, Full House, Prison Break, Gilmore Girls and more return to our screens, with many others on the way. Not all of them have been worthy of a resurrection, but that certainly hasn't stopped the revival train from moving forward. The latest series potentially set for revival stardom will be Roseanne, the working-class American family comedy which starred Roseanne Barr and John Goodman.

Per Deadline, an eight-episode limited series of Roseanne is in the works and is currently in the process of being shopped to networks. ABC is considered to be the sentimental choice to air the new episodes as that's where the original series called home from 1988-97, but Netflix is also a possibility. Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert will all be returning, with Laurie Metcalf, Johnny Galecki and more in the process of joining the revival series in some capacity. This return to Roseanne was sparked by John Goodman and Sara Gilbert's mini-Roseanne reunion filmed during Goodman's visit to CBS' The Talk, as well as network interest in making an effort to better reflect the lives of everyday Americans.

During that interview on The Talk, John Goodman was quite enthusiastic about the possibility of a Roseanne revival, saying "oh, hell yes, if we could get everyone together." Sara Gilbert seemed down as well, but admitted that her only fear "is you don’t want to do a bad version, because you don’t want to damage what’s been done." One notable bump which the revival will have to overcome is the series finale reveal that John Goodman's character had died of a heart attack the previous season. Good luck with that.

Are you down for a revival of Roseanne or is this a terrible idea?
