Roth talks H2 info

In a little chit-chat with Production Weekly, Eli Roth discussed his work on the sequel to one of the more disturbing films in recent memory, HOSTEL.

In the interview, Roth stated that one of the main focus points for the sequel is to have direct continuity with the first film. “I want it to feel like the movie is going to pick up on the next cut, as if you could watch the two movies back-to-back and it would be a three-hour movie. There will be some new things thrown in there but it has to look and feel like that movie.”

As well, the sequel would be focussing on three female protagonists this time around (though Jay Hernandez is still in here), along with carrying a darker tone than the original. Filming for the sequel will take place in the Czech Republic for the majority of the production, with some stopovers in Rome and (if the government says it’s okay) Slovakia.

After HOSTEL 2 is in the bag, it’s off to the production of the adaptation of Stephen King’s CELL in spring of 2007.
