Roth talks Trash

What made the whole GRINDHOUSE experience as awesome as it was had to do a lot with the fake trailers in between the two features. While you likely had your favorites (MACHETE & THANKSGIVING for me!), you have to admit that every one of them added a slice of ‘fun’ to an already awesome time at the movies.

Director Eli Roth thought the same thing, as he’s currently working on TRAILER TRASH, an entire movie featuring a collaboration of a bunch of fake trailer for fake movies, just like in GRINDHOUSE. Today Roth had a chance to talk with MTV about the project, and yes… it’s sounding better and better by the minute.

Originally I was going to do it with a bunch of other directors, but now as I’m writing it, I don’t want to share it. I want to shoot them all myself. I’m going to be directing the feature – in certain cases, we might make a rare exception, like Edgar Wright … But really only in one or two cases; otherwise I’m going to be directing the film.

And that there is just a taste of what he had to say. Sure, Roth may be arrogant, and have the ego the size of King Kong, but let’s face it… his THANKSGIVING trailer rocked, so if any one director can pull this off, it’s Roth.

To check out more of the chat, including his slip of pot eating zombies and the storyline that will string all the trailers together, go ahead and click HERE, and get reatdy for TRAILER TRASH in theaters next August.
