Roth wants turkey

Just yesterday My Buddy Eric and I were having a discussion about how much we think Eli Roth sucks assholes as an actor. I hated him in DEATH PROOF, and his mini-cameo’s in all of his movies feel torturous, even if he’s only there for a few seconds. He has a major role in INGLORIOUS BASTERDS which has me a bit worried, so we’ll have to wait and see how that one pans out.

Since HOSTEL II flopped out of theaters, Roth has stepped away from the director’s chair, but appears that he’s got something cookin’ up his sleeve that’s going to be EPIC–at least, according to his chat with MTV.

That’s right, Roth sat down and chatted with MTV about his upcoming Sci-Fi blockbuster (!) and his plans on filming a full-length version of his GRINDHOUSE trailer THANKSGIVING! Say what???? Check out just a taste of the chat for yourself:

I don’t want to give away the title yet, because I have to make sure I own it 100%, but it’s going to be something that is really fun with lots of mass destruction… the plan is this: I want to do a huge budget movie, but tack on three weeks to the end of it and shoot ‘Thanksgiving’… I want to make the highest body count slasher film I can.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Roth has a big event summer blockbuster movie in mind, with plans on filming THANKSGIVING with the film’s leftover budget. Kick ass! That actually sounds, not only awesome, but totally doable! And why wouldn’t studios want it? They get two movies for the price of one!

While I don’t miss seeing the guy trying to act, I kind of miss him behind the camera and giving us some sick and demented shit on the big screen. Hopefully his plan works out.
