Royal Pains actor Patrick Heusinger in talks for Jack Reacher 2 villain role

JACK REACHER 2 may have found its villain in the form of Royal Pains actor Patrick Heusinger, according to Variety. Heusinger is currently in talks for the role, and if he does sign on, he'll be joining Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Aldis Hodge and Danika Yarosh. While there aren't any additional details on his part, it is being described as “the hunter.”

Heusinger's other small screen credits include roles on Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, Revolution and Gossip Girl, and has appeared in such films as Frances Ha, Black Swan and Sweet Land. It'll be hard for the actor to top Werner Herzog's Zec from the first movie, however I'm interested in seeing what he will bring to the table as the film's villain.

The sequel will be based on the 2013 Reacher novel Never Go Back, which sees the former Army M.P. traveling back to his old military base in Virginia, only to discover that the new commanding officer has been arrested, and finds himself being charged with beating the snot out of one guy and fathering a child with a woman, although he can’t remember doing either infraction.

JACK REACHER 2 is expected to start production this November with Cruise's THE LAST SAMURAI director Edward Zwick behind the camera, and is scheduled to open on October 21, 2016.
