A plant! And just any old plant, but more like a Venus flytrap! But somehow I don’t see this one singing and dancing like Audrey II anytime soon. Check out this synyopsis: [the movie] chronicles the experiences of young tourists who find themselves isolated at an archaeological dig in a Mexican jungle. After that, it’s lunchtime for the monstrous plant… with these tourists as the main course. Yummy!
The flick stars Jonathan Tucker, Shawn Ashmore, and hotties Laura Ramsey and Jena Malone. Sounds like a bucket of fun to me, and when was the last time you’ve seen a really good killer plant movie? MANEATER OF HYDRA was the last one I saw, and it sucked balls, mostly because the vicitims of the plant failed to do the most obvious thing… run away! It’s a plant, it’s rooted to a the ground, it’s not going anywhere! Let’s hope THE RUINS handles it a bit better than that.
