Rumor: Who does Marvel want for Doctor Strange?

According to Latino Review, a trusted source is saying that Marvel Studios has been discussing Joseph Gordon-Levitt for the role of DOCTOR STRANGE.

Of course take this with a grain of salt. Latino Review labels it as much, and even goes as far to say that there’s no offer, discussions, nor any knowledge of the idea on behalf of Gordon-Levitt’s camp. It said that the script from Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer the role is written for someone in their 30s. Gordon-Levitt turned 32 in February. Obviously they want him for more than the fact that he’s in the age range. However, this does mean that he would be playing two heroes if any further action is taken with his character in the Batman universe. Not that this has been a problem before.

As much as I love Gordon-Levitt, I don’t see him as a fit for Strange. I was hoping that they would definitely go with someone at least in their 40s but if they do want to make this into something as big as IRON MAN then they may be wanting someone a little younger. The part has been linked to several actors thus far like Justin Theroux, Patrick Dempsey, Viggo Mortensen, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

I’m sure in the next couple of weeks someone else will be rumored for the role…
