While I’ve yet to meet anyone who digs the title change of Rupert Wyatt’s RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, the film certainly looks better than Tim Burton’s 2001 debacle. And after seeing a trailer for the film a couple weeks ago, Fox has issued a brief making of featurette as a follow up.
You’ll see new footage from the film, as well as hear from Wyatt and James Franco, the latter plays a shady scientist with his own agenda. Put simply, the film is about an animal that “rises against the machine.” Naturally.
Also starring Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto (below), Tom Felton, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Tyler Labine, David Hewlett, Sonja Bennett, Leah Gibson and Chelah Horsdal:
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
The planet rises August 5th.
