It’s been a whole four days since we stabbed you with a new WOLFMAN poster (or two). And with the holiday push in full swing, Universal is slowly but very steadily dripping out all things Benicio Del Toro decked in Rick Baker’s monster-man makeup. The newest being this poster we’ve got from Russia (above), which reverts and sorta pushes the romantic elements of the film over the ghastly.
Notice Emily Blunt in the picture, looking distressed, on the brink of tears. Then the image of Del Toro hovering, looking down upon her, that ubiquitous full-moon looming in the background. It’s definitely a far cry from the last two posters we’ve seen where, for better or worse, the titular man-beast appears more rabid and unkempt than our man Arrow at a drunken sorority party.
But I digress!
With screenplay credit going to Andrew Kevin Walker (SE7EN, 8MM) and David Self (THE HAUNTING, ROAD TO PERDITION), THE WOLFMAN is directed by ROCKETEER and JURASSIC PARK III filmmaker Joe Johnston. The flick stars the aforementioned Del Toro, as well as Emily Blunt, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving, Geraldine Chaplin, Art Malik, Kiran Shah, Elizabeth Croft, David Sterne, and Branko Tomovic.
