A very brief piece of catch-up, for those of you who don’t know what HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is: Right around the time GRINDHOUSE was getting ready to be unleashed, a contest was held asking people to deliver their best fake 70s-inspired trailers; the winner would have his trailer shown at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin during SXSW, and it would even be attached to some prints of the film (in Canada, I believe). The winner was a young man named Jason Eisener, and his trailer was HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN.
Now, right on the heels of MACHETE getting a release date, we learn that HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is itself getting the feature film treatment. Directed by Eisener, it just began shooting in Nova Scotia. And who will be said hobo? RUTGER HAUER, that’s who! How utterly, insaney awesome if this flick going to be?!

(As a bonus, I’ve also attached Jason Eisener’s short film TREEVENGE, which is a f*ckin’ kooky little flick and definitely worth a look.) The man who plays the hobo in the trailer, David Brunt, will be in the feature as well, but as a cop. He’s passed the rags and 12-gauge to a legend… Cannot wait to see what this ends up being.
