Jason Eisener’a HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is a film that dreams are made of, and not just the dreams of hobos everywhere who wish they too had shotguns. But we’re talking about a film that got the thumbs up after the awesomeness of a 2 minute trailer, and once that thumbs up was given, they were able to score the great Rutger Hauer as the lead hobo… with a shotgun.
The boys over at Twitch Film scored the first official look at Hauer as said hobo, and boy does he look the part, shotgun and shopping cart in tow. Nice! But wait–is there something in that cart of his? A body? Or simply the severed legs of a cowboy who crossed this hobo one too many times?
Officially, HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN goes something like this: [The film] tells the story of a vigilante homeless man who pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city’s crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how – with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail.
