Ryan Reynolds is a consumate professional and when it comes to landing the role of a lifetime, he's not messing around. Such is the case with his upcoming role in POKEMON: DETECTIVE PIKACHU, where he plays that loveable, furry, highly electrical and probably lethal creature, Pikachu. Of course, Reynolds is merely supplying the voice, but that doesn't stop him from fully immersing himself in the role, as demonstrated in the video below. Take a look:

Like many of you, I was absolutely SHOCKED at how good this movie looks from the trailers and am predicting it to do gangbusters business at the box office, as it appeals to all manner of fans; those that grew up with Pokemon, those that are currently growing up with Pokemon, soccer moms and construction workers playing pokemon go on their smartphones and people that like the smooth, silky jazz music that is Ryan Reynolds voice. Sorry ladies, no topless scenes in this one, most likely. In all seriousness, though, this does look like a lot of fun and I appreciate the marketing, which is appropriately Ryan Reynolds style (shoutout to bringing in the wife, Blake Lively, for this one, too).

POKEMON: DETECTIVE PIKACHU hits theaters on May 10th.
