Ryan Reynolds & Karen Gillan trade vulgar trash-talk in the name of charity

Earlier this month, Joe and Anthony Russo announced the AGBO Superheroes Fantasy Football Charity League, in which a variety of super-heroic participants, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Pratt, Michael B. Jordan, Chris Evans, and more, are playing for a charity of their choice while also competing for a prize pool of $100,000.

This week will find Ryan Reynolds (DEADPOOL) facing off against Karen Gillan (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) as they play for SickKids Foundation of Canada and Mickey's Line. At the urging of the Russo brothers, Ryan Reynolds dropped a trash-talking video aimed at Karen Gillan, but as a Canadian, it's not something he's entirely comfortable with. I feel ya. "According to Joe and Anthony Russo, I'm supposed to create a trash-talking video in order to be in this league, and I'm not super comfortable with trash talk because I'm Canadian. I try and maintain a level of politeness, but anyway my opponent this week is Karen Gillan, and she's like, nice." Reynolds explained. "I thought I was going to get like Chris Pratt or RDJ or Anthony Mackie or Chris Evans, f*** that guy, but no, I got Karen, and so I sort of feel like I'm going to tread a little bit more lightly. I'm going to save the really intense hard stuff for next week maybe, but in the meantime, I'm going to trash talk Karen Gillan, but nicely, so here goes." What follows is, well, you should probably just watch for yourself.

Amongst the avalanche of bleeps were pumpkin butter, Pat Sajak's finger, and other nonsensical jabberings, but Karen Gillan wasn't about to let such an insult slide and quickly responded with her own video. As someone who believes that actions speak louder than words, Gillan took something of a different approach. Be sure to stick around to the end.

Reynolds' response: "I think we all owe @TomHolland1996 a sincere and unblinking apology."
