Ryan Reynolds responds to Deadpool Oscar snub

While a long-shot, there was some who felt that DEADPOOL might've had a chance at some Oscar gold. Those people were delusional, but those people did exist.

Anyway, what's done is done, and DEADPOOL has come away with zero nominations. But Ryan Reynolds, star of DEADPOOL, had this to say about it on Twitter:

The "tickle fight" is a nod to a previous tweet Reynolds made after the Golden Globes nominations came out, which earned him a Best Actor nomination. But it was the Golden Globes, so no one gave a shit.

It's just that there does still seem to be a prejudice towards sci-fi/fantasy/action films during awards season that feels unwarranted (even if there are outliers, like Best Picture noms for STAR WARS and LORD OF THE RINGS). DEADPOOL was never going to be the film to break that barrier for comic-book films (outside of supporting actor and technical awards), but I am looking forward to see the one that does.
