Ryuhei Kitamura has decided on his English-language follow-up to MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN: a kidnapping thriller titled NO ONE LIVES, which begins shooting this summer. WWE and Pathe UK will co-finance the film, which has Luke Evans (CLASH OF THE TITANS, IMMORTALS) attached to star.
The synopsis: A gang of ruthless highway killers kidnap a wealthy couple traveling cross country only to shockingly discover that things are not what they seem.
Principal photography is scheduled to start June 13 in New Orleans. Aside from Evans, no actors are attached. (Although IMDB alleges that actors Beau Knapp and Stephen Martines are in the film; however, thanks to the site’s shaky credibility, we’ll wait for a confirmation.)
Pathé Distribution will distribute the film in France; and Fox will distribute the film in the U.K. on Pathe’s behalf. Pathe International will handle international sales.
WWE Films produced the 2006 slasher SEE NO EVIL (a movie I still contend isn’t half bad) and the John Cena vehicles THE MARINE and 12 ROUNDS. It’s worth mentioning that SEE NO EVIL made an outstanding $45 million through DVD sales alone.
