From SWAMP THING to HATCHET, our genre often feels right at home submerged in the murky depths of a swamp. How could it not? I mean, other than a rundown home, where else would you be able to find an endless expanse of creepy imagery and dangerous denizens? Hence, I’m proud to give you THE SACRED, the latest horror flick to take up residence amidst the sea of foggy bogs, gators, and weeping branches. I’m kind of digging its crazy plot. Have a look:
A group of students go on an excursion into a swamp area to research Native American folklore. Unfortunately, the ground they wind up on can bring sins—and the dead—to life, and the young people wind up being punished for their past misdeeds.
Not too shabby. Plus, after checking out THE SACRED’s trailer (click here, to see it), I’m thinking that this one looks like the real deal. We get two very hot blondes in tank tops (one’s up top), some intense jolts, and some creepy tribesmen.
The flick was directed by Jose Zambrano Cassella (who really impressed me with the “killer-pizza-guy” horror DELIVERY). He co-wrote the script with Sharon Reed. It stars Jessica Blackmore, David Mackey, Lauren Brown (below), Jordan Wall, Ryan Marsico and John Kyle. You can also check out SACRED’s offical website here.
