You see news coming at us from The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog has Sam Raimi attached to direct the upcoming adaptation of the Radical graphic novel EARP: SAINTS FOR SINNERS. The comic, which comes from Matt Cirulnick, M. Zachary Sherman, Mack Chater and Martin Montiel, is a futuristic sci-fi reimagining of Wyatt Earp — best known for the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, where he fought alongside his two brothers and compadre Doc Holliday — set in a future in which he takes on outlaws in a ravaged society where the only boomtown left is Las Vegas.
Raimi will direct with Cirulnick penning the script. DreamWorks have tapped Mandeville Films partners David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman to produce alongside Radical president Barry Levine and Star Road Entertainment’s Josh Donen. Radical are planning on announcing this little diddy this Thursday at Comic-Con.
So what do you guys think? You up to watch Raimi direct a futuristic Wyatt Earp flick? Anyone out there have a chance to check out EARP: SAINTS FOR SINNERS? Is it right down Raimi’s alley? Now the director currently has both WORLD OF WARCRAFT and OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL lined up so there’s no telling when he’ll get around to EARP. As always as soon as we hear more on the project you’ll be first to know!
She may not have anything to do with EARP but I’m not complaining!
