Whenever Sam Raimi’s name pops up in the news you can damn well bet we’re going to take notice. Sure the man has lost his way a little while he’s been out playing with red and blue tights for the past decade but that doesn’t mean he still doesn’t have it. DRAG ME TO HELL was a hint of that and I’m choosing to beleive the filmmaker has got a lot more genre ‘umph’ in there somewhere! So when news comes out that Raimi is teaming with a “Lost” producer on a new sci-fi genre project it should be no surprise that we’re going to rush to tell you about it!
I’m talking about a television series called “Smokers” that Fox is prepping with Raimi and “Lost” writer/producer Brian K. Vaughn. The project will center around a documentary crew that follows working-class heroes who exterminate alien threats in deep space. So we’re basically talking about THE EXPENDABLES versus aliens here? Nice!
