Sam Rockwell to star as George W. Bush in Dick Cheney biopic

Adam McKay has found his George W. Bush in MOON, SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS, and IRON MAN 2 actor Sam Rockwell, for his biopic surrounding former vice-president Dick Cheney. For the moment, Rockwell is in final negotiations to join a cast that already includes stars like Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Amy Adams, and Bill Pullman for the political drama.

Soon, Annapurna will cue cameras to roll as Bale steps into the role of Dick Cheney, for a story about the political figure dodging Vietnam military service, his rise to CEO of the multinational corporation Haliburton, to eventually becoming second-in-command to the most powerful man in the United States. In regard to the rest of the cast, Carell will portray Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld while Amy Adam's has accepted the role as Cheney's wife, Lynne Cheney.

As George W. Bush, Rockwell will represent the president who lead the nation through the horrendous 9/11 attack on New York's Twin Towers, and the events that followed which allowed Cheney to play a major role in the fight against terrorism. Producing CHENEY are McKay and his Gary Sanchez Productions partners Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick. Brad Pitt and Dede Garner are also producing via their Plan B label. Production on the picture is expected to begin in September.

Soon, you'll be able to catch Rockwell when he stars beside Frances McDormand, Abbie Cornish, Peter Dinklage, and Woody Harrelson in Martin McDonagh's THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI. This comedic thriller is expected to hit theaters on November 10th.
