Sandra Bullock is probably not doing a sequel to The Heat

Is a second installment of THE HEAT in Sandra Bullock’s future? It’s not likely according to her.

“I’m not doing a sequel to ‘The Heat. I’ve done two sequels. They were horrible. What Melissa and I had was beautiful. We might do another film together. I think we should do a silent film together.”

Which sequels could she be referring to? MISS CONGENIALITY 2: ARMED AND FABULOUS, SPEED 2: CRUISE CONTROL, and THE NET 2: WEB OF LIES. Okay, scratch that last one off (we can dream). All silliness aside, isn’t she right? Did you go and see either of those? I’ll give you a pass for SPEED 2.

Director Paul Feig has a hard time imagining a sequel without either lady, “It would be very hard. They’re so great together. Their chemistry is so awesome. I would be very sad if I didn’t have both of them back.” That said, Feig seems to be moving ahead with screenwriter Katie Dippold. A first draft has already been delivered and is said to have met Feig’s expectations.

A few months ago, Bullock said that she would “never say never” in an interview with EW but if it was “better than the first one” she would look at it.
