It didn’t take First 4 Figures long to roll out the red carpet for the DOOM movie license. First it was a replica of the BFG, then a statue of a Hellknight, and now action figures!
According to the press release, the first series will include figures of Sarge aka The Rock, The Reaper, Sewer Imp and the human/cyborg version of Pinky, with Sarge and Pinky the only ones revealed at this time. Sarge stands 6″ tall and features 22 points of articulation, including neck (ball joint), shoulders (ball joints), mid-biceps cuts, up-down elbow joint, wrist cuts, waist cut, pelvis (ball joints), double knee joints, and toe up down joints. The figure also features numerous accessories, including the BFG, a hand gun, an ST Grenade, and a scientist’s arm.
As for Pinky, he stands (or is it sits?) 5″ tall, with a fully functional wheelchair and 14 points of articulation, including neck (ball joint), shoulders (ball joints), mid-biceps cuts, up down elbow joint, wrist cuts, waist cuts, wheel chair remote cut, and back of wheelchair wheel cut. He also includes an ST Grenade, a com unit and a pistol for accessories.
This is First 4 Figures’ first foray into the action figure realm, and it doesn’t look to be too bad of a job, though Sarge’s neck seems a little long to me, as well his head seems disproportionate to his body. Then again, it just might be the angle in the picture. Look for the figures to commandeer store shelves in May at $9.99 apiece. Click either picture to see that figure’s info and more photos.
