Sausages: The Making of Dog Soldiers book comes to Kindle in May

Earlier this month, we shared the news that Scream Factory is giving writer/director Neil Marshall’s Dog Soldiers – one of the best werewolf movies ever made – a Collector’s Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray combo pack release on June 14th. (Copies can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.) Before those discs start shipping out, Dog Soldiers will also be honored with the Kindle release of a book called Sausages: The Making of Dog Soldiers. The release date for the book is May 13th, and copies can be pre-ordered on Amazon.

Written by Janine Pipe, Sausages: The Making of Dog Soldiers has a page count of 420. It’s described as being a

celebration of Neil Marshall’s debut soldiers versus werewolves movie. To coincide with the 20-year anniversary, it takes a deep dive look behind the scenes at the cult classic. As well as a full retrospective, you will find interviews with the cast and crew, never seen before photographs, original shot list, excerpts from the script and more. Encompassing the tone of Dog SoldiersSausages is the perfect companion to this fan-favourite film.

The book includes a foreword by The Howling director Joe Dante and an afterword by An American Werewolf in London director John Landis.

Dog Soldiers has the following synopsis:

A group of soldiers dispatched to the Scottish Highlands on special training maneuvers face their biggest fears after they run into Captain Ryan – the only survivor of a Special Ops team that was literally torn to pieces. Ryan refuses to disclose his mission even though whoever attacked his men might be hungry for seconds. Help arrives in the form of a local woman who shelters them in a deserted farmhouse deep in the forest … but when they realize that they are surrounded by a pack of blood-lusting werewolves, it’s apparent their nightmare has just begun!

The film stars Kevin McKidd (Rome), Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon), Emma Cleasby (Doomsday), and Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones).

I’ve been a fan of Dog Soldiers ever since it was first released, so I think it’s awesome that it’s getting a substantial “making of” book. Will you be reading Sausages? Let us know in the comments section.
