Yahoo just debuted a rather cool motion poster for SAW VI, the first solid piece of media we’ve seen for the flick thus far. I can dig it, although it sure does imply that we might be seeing more than just one Jigsaw-copycat in the near future. (Well, so does the news that SAW VII is gearing up soon.)
What I’d really like to see occur at the end of SAW VI is the death of Hoffman and the creation of a new killer or killers (and would anybody be surprised by that development?) Hoffman is just lame; the series needs a bad guy with the charisma – and acting ability – of Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw.
Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood.
SAW VI opens on OCTOBER 23rd. It was directed by Kevin Greutert and stars Costas Mandylor, Mark Rolston, Betsy Russell, Tobin Bell, and Shawnee Smith.
