Congratulations Mr. Wan!
Boffo is reporting Wan…James Wan (above), the SAW and DEAD SILENCE director, has recently inked an 8-picture deal with Icon Entertainment International. He’ll produce two horror films a year under the agreement, with an option to direct one if the timing and material is right.
First on the docket is a flick called HOUSE OF HORRORS, which Wan has handpicked Javier Gutierrez (BEFORE THE FALL) to direct. Wan conceived the story, which has been turned into a screenplay by Max La Bella (AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION 2). No plot details for HOUSE OF HORRORS were given.
“The idea is to produce small, scary, low-budget pics that I enjoy making,” Wan says. “I don’t see myself coming up with any romantic-dramedy ideas right now.”
Good shit James, we’re all excited for you bro. As long as you keep bringing us cool flicks (like INSIDIOUS looks and sounds to be btw)…we’ll be checkin’ them out.
