Saw Video Games Revisited – Horror Game Review

There have been two video games made to tie-in with the Saw film franchise. The first was a game that was simply titled Saw, released in 2009. And just like with the movies, it only took one year for a sequel to come along. That one was called Saw II: Flesh & Blood. We’re digging into that original 2009 game with the new episode of the Playing with Fear video series, which was just released through the JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel. Check it out in the embed above!

According to Wikipedia, the Saw video game is “primarily a third-person survival horror game with elements of the action genre. The player controls David Tapp, a former detective trapped in the Jigsaw Killer’s asylum filled with traps. The primary goal of the game is to traverse the asylum and solve traps in order to escape.” David Tapp is the character Danny Glover played in the first Saw film.

As for Saw II: Flesh & Blood, that oneis set between the first game and the second film in the series. The new protagonist, Michael, is the son of David Tapp, who begins to seek the cause of his father’s death which eventually leads him into conflict with the Jigsaw Killer and his apprentice Pighead.
