Saw VII Endgame Deluxe 3D starts filming today with Kevin Greutert at the helm

After all the talk and the back and forth, it looks like director Kevin Greutert really is back to direct SAW VII, and won’t be switching over to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 after all. There was a glimmer of hope that a last minute switcheroo was going to happen, but alas… it wasn’t meant to be.

Greutert dropped a note on the House of Jigsaw message board yesterday, announcing that SAW VII ENDGAME DELUXE 3D (official title? or just what he calls it?) will start filming today, and it’s already gearing up to the most expensive SAW film to date! Yep… making shite in 3D will do that to a movie, but at least they’re making it 3D from the start, and adding it later in post-production.

While Greutert is on board, it’s hard to tell if his heart is all there, but it sounds like he’s trying to make the best of it…here’s a taste of what he had to say: It has not been a picnic, but the crew is working hard, and I am as well. On those rare occasions when I can actually go to sleep, I see images like the World Trade Center collapsing in slow motion, plane crashes, drownings, other bad shit. It’s unhealthy for me, but hopefully the creepy scariness of my life right now is somehow translating into a vibe that will be good for the movie, if they’ll just give me a chance to put my stamp on it here and there. Very difficult indeed…

Yikes! I think making these movies are bad for his health… at least, his mental health. Oh well… I just hope he makes an entertaining SAW entry, and I hope the traps utilize as much of the 3D gimmick as possible.
