Schumacher a Saint

Joel Schumacher really shouldn’t have done BATMAN & ROBIN. If he hadn’t, his name would bring up memories of THE LOST BOYS, not for almost completely destroying the BATMAN film franchise.

Schumacher has another chance to redeem himself (and to be fair, he did a pretty good job with the NUMBER 23), this time with INLAND SAINTS, from writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (the same dudes behind the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH and FREDDY VS JASON).

According to Variety, the film was originally titled FIX, about the leader of a dangerous street gang who meets and falls in love with the daughter of the detective hired to bring down the gang. Paramount hired Shannon and Swift to overhaul the project, which will now look something closer to this: an action horror film set in a small-town desert wasteland gripped by drugs and gangs, with plot details still being hashed out.

How FIX and INLAND SAINTS are even ‘the same’ movie is beyond me, but changing an urban thriller to an action horror films sounds like the right move to me! Not to mention having Shannon and Swift do the rewrite (even nicer move!). And with Schumacher still on board, it should be interesting to see how it turns out.

Stick around for more on the details of the new action horror movie plot of INLAND SAINTS as we hear it! Maybe this will finally clear Schumachers name…
