Scream: Original cast reuniting for charity event this Saturday

Time to get nostalgic for '90s teen slasher goodness because screenwriter Kevin Williamson and the original SCREAM cast will be holding a virtual reunion on Saturday, November 14, and it's all for a good cause.

The event is hosted by "Variety" and will be moderated by Jenelle Riley. Fans will be able to submit questions to be answered during the live event and in attendance, along with Kevin Williamson, will be Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott), Skeet Ulrich (Billy Loomis), Matthew Lillard (Stu Macher), Rose McGowan (Tatum Riley), David Arquette (Dewey Riley), and Jamie Kennedy (Randy Meeks). The only person we're missing is Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) but perhaps she's busy shooting on the upcoming SCREAM 5 or doing girl stuff with her best friend Jennifer Aniston, who knows? Even with her absence, this is pretty much the entire original cast of the 1996 film that started it all.

The event is set to benefit the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), "I Have a Dream" Foundation – Los Angeles, and the East Los Angeles Women's Center. The goal of the NBCC is to end breast cancer through the power of advocacy and action, which includes providing funding for innovative breast cancer research. The "I Have a Dream" Foundation provides long-term support to youth living in under-resourced communities while the East Los Angeles Women's Center provides a safe place where all women, girls, and their families can live safely, free from violence and abuse. These are all worthy causes to support and should get a lot of traction from fans who want to see the original SCREAM cast reunite.

SCREAM is back in the spotlight due to the announcement of the fifth film of the franchise which is currently filming in Wilmington, North Carolina. There is a slew of fresh faces joining the cast but the real excitement for fans was the result of securing the original trifecta of Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette. They'll be back to face Ghostface again in a new movie that will be directed by READY OR NOT helmers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet. While Williamson will not be writing this new installment, he will be on as an executive producer with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busey taking on writing duties. SCREAM 5 is set to scare audiences when it hits screens on January 14, 2022.

Wll you be attending the SCREAM virtual reunion? The event takes place this Saturday, November 14 at 6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT via Looped Live.
