We at AITH have made no bones about our love for Robert Harmon’s THE HITCHER. Hell, our man The Arrow was best man at the writer, Eric Red’s, wedding. Needless to say the flick is like an extended family member!
Which is precisely why we’re calling attention to a special Screamfest (35mm) screening of the film this Wednesday, April 21st, in downtown Los Angeles. Not only will the film play on a glorious big-screen, Harmon and Red will be in attendance with plans to field a Q&A session following the screening. Perfect time to shed the mid-week stress for all us Angelinos!
So where does this shindig actually go down? A place called Downtown Independent, a theater located at 251 South Main Street in the heart of L.A. (click here for a map). The screening starts at 8:00 PM sharp, with additional cast members TBA on hand. Again, for any fan of Pony Boy sinking his teeth into a gnawed off finger, here’s a perfect opportunity to see the film the way it was meant to be shown.
Synopsis: A young man transporting a car to another state is stalked along the road by a cunning and relentless serial killer who eventually frames the driver for a string of murders. Chased by police and shadowed by the killer, the driver’s only help comes from a truck stop waitress.
Rutger Hauer, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Jason Leigh (below), Jeffrey DeMunn, John M. Jackson and Billy Greenbush (4/20, yo!) all star in the film.
Click HERE to get your tickets for the screening ($10 is as good as a matinee bargain!) Hurry up, we’re 24 hours from show time!
