Screen Media nabs worldwide rights to Mickey Keating’s Darling

Writer/director Mickey Keating's recently released film POD, which Jake Dee gave a 5/10 review, is a movie that I felt didn't quite reach its potential. The pay-off wasn't satisfying after its lengthy build-up. Despite that, I found Keating to be a promising director and was impressed by the performances delivered by the leads. So I am very intrigued by Keating's next film, DARLING, on which he has reteamed with some of his POD cast.

POD's Lauren Ashley Carter has the starring role in DARLING, which is about

a young woman who slowly goes crazy after taking a job as the caretaker for an ancient New York home.

She is joined by Sean Young, Helen Rogers, John Speredakos, and fellow POD stars Brian Morvant and the always awesome Larry Fessenden.

Keating describes DARLING as "a love letter to those chilling, old school horror films that get under your skin and stay there." He expects it will give its viewers some serious nightmares.

DARLING is going to get the chance to reach, and terrify, a whole lot of viewers, as the worldwide distribution rights to the film have been picked up by Screen Media Films, who are planning a theatrical release for it in early 2016.

I'm really looking forward to checking it out and seeing what Keating and his cohorts have pulled off this time around. The concept is interesting and there's a lot of talent involved, so DARLING is going on my "Must Watch" list.
