Se7en team Proud

One of the greatest genre flicks of the 90s has to be David Fincher’s SE7EN, a flick that’s so masterfully done that it still holds up today as an example of solid filmmaking. According to THR, the director / writer team of SE7EN (Fincher / Andrew Kevin Walker) are joining forces yet again, this time to bring an adaptation of THE REINCARNATION OF PETER PROUD to the big screen.

For those (like myself) who know nothing of PROUD, check this out: [PROUD] centers on a college professor who begins having recurring dreams and nightmares and, realizing they are images of a past life, decides to search out the source of the visions. With his girlfriend in tow, he discovers a woman and her grown-up daughter who are keys to his past life.

Based on the novel by Max Ehrlich of the same name, the new film will rely solely on the original source material, and not the previous film adaptation made back in 1975 from director J. Lee Thompson, which starred Michael Sarrazin and Margot Kidder.

The flick sounds like it could have potential, and will likely spawn a viewing of the 1975 flick as well. Sounds a shitload better than Fincher’s next flick, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, about the dudes who invented FaceBook, and seeing Walker and Fincher reteam for a thriller like this… well, I can’t wait!
