Sebastian Stan addresses Luke Skywalker rumors

There have been a lot of rumors online about Sebastian Stan playing Luke Skywalker in some kind of future Star Wars project. A lot of it seems to be internet fan-casting but the rumors have gotten so prevalent that different media outlets have been asking Stan about it as he has been promoting The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Stan was asked about the prospect yet again on Good Morning America and he had a pretty funny response to all the internet chatter.

During a chat on GMA, host Robin Roberts brought up one of the tweets that had Mark Hamill himself seemingly endorsing Stan, if jokingly, as the next Luke Skywalker. Stan replied to Roberts about the notion by saying "If Mark Hamil calls me personally to tell me that he feels inclined to share this role with me then I'll believe it." You can check out Stan's response on the official GMA Twitter page below:

Stan is playing it coy in the GMA clip but in the past, he has been more open to the Luke Skywalker casting. The actor once posted "I just want to say here that anytime anyone would like to call me and ask about Luke Skywalker I'd be very happy to play him." It seems like a lot of these rumors started because Sebastian Stan does look like a young Mark Hamill by way of Luke Skywalker and, in that sense, the casting would make sense. That being said, there is no word if a young Luke Skywalker project is in the works and this all seems to come down to fan speculation. At this point, I think we're getting Sebastian Stan's hopes up that this could be a possibility. Perhaps all that matters is that back in 2017, Hamill seemed to be in on the joke and may have endorsed Stan as his successor.

Do YOU think Sebastian Stan would be a good young Luke Skywalker?
