Serial killer classic Angst comes screaming to DVD and Blu-Ray this October

1983's ANGST, to put it lightly, is a film that isn't f*cking around. A forgotten classic of the slasher golden era, this Eurosleaze serial killer thriller was shot by the Oscar-winning Polish animator/experimentalist Zbig Rybczynski, scored by Tangerine Dream member Klaus Schulze and has been cited as an influence by noted insane person Gasper Noe (ENTER THE VOID, IRREVERSIBLE, LOVE), who has seen it more than 40 times.

In the film:

Erwin Leder (DAS BOOT, SCHINDLER'S LIST) plays a maniacal killer based on the real-life serial murderer Werner Kniesek. As he stalks through the bland Viennese countryside, Schulze's music pulses darkly, and Zbig's innovative first-person camerawork grabs you by the throat, never letting go. Angst is one film that, without any empty hyperbole, we can guarantee you'll never, ever forget.

ANGST (which is, appropriately, the German word for "fear") is receiving a deluxe home video treatment from Cult Epics, including a new Interview with Erwin Leder, and audio commentary with director Gerald Kargl, and an introduction from Gaspar Noe himself.

ANGST, which will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 13, 2015, can be pre-ordered here, if you dare.
