Serpent teaser

For those who love (and I mean love) monster movies, it generally doesn’t matter how big the budget it is, or how elaborate the effects are, or how cheesy the film’s delivery ends up being, because… let’s face it… monster movies are just plain fun. And when they fail in the effects department, it’s that cheese factor that makes them enjoyable.

Case in point is Joel Trujillo’s low budget SERPENT LAKE. The teaser trailer hit online today, and you owe yourself three minutes to check it out. Cheesy? Yes. Horrid effects? Yes. Bad acting? Yes. Good times? Hell yes!

But wait, what’s this SERPENT LAKE all about? Check it: Every 30 years, in the summer there is a mysterious unidentified creature claimed to inhabit Astaire’s freshwater lake in Minnesota…

There’s more to it than that, but really… do you need to know more? It’s a monster in a lake. Much like MONSTEROID, it’s a story about a lake monster eating people. If it’s killing you, you can head THIS WAY for the full and elaborate synopsis.

But after watching the teaser below, I highly doubt you’ll need much more. Looking for a release in summer 2009, SERPENT LAKE is one we’ll keep an eye on for you, because… it looks too cool for school.
