Set pic released for Guy Ritchie’s live-action Aladdin remake

I don’t think I’m alone in my exhaustion of all the live-action remakes of beloved Disney cartoons – we also have LION KING,
MULAN, and more on the way. But I can’t deny I’m curious about Guy Ritchie‘s upcoming live-action ALADDIN remake. For one, they actually went out of their way to cast ethnically diverse actors for the roles, which is a good start (we don’t want to have another PRINCE OF PERSIA, EXODUS: GODS AND MONSTERS, GODS OF EGYPT, and countless others on our hands). Also Guy Ritchie might seem a weird choice at first, but since the movie is about a wise-cracking thief, and his first films like LOCK, STOCK, AND SMOKING BARRELS were all about wise-cracking, low-life thieves. So it might be right up his alley.

Anyway, filming has commenced, and here’s a look at the main cast, which includes Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Marwan Kenzari (Jafar), and Will Smith (the Genie) in a set pic:

I like the cast, and I like the director. I’m just hoping at this point that the movie isn’t complete dogshit.

So Schmoes, what live-action Disney film would you like to see next (since this is now apparently a thing?) Sound off below!
