Seth is a Dork

JoBloJoBlo

I mentioned the other day that I have a copy of “The Men Who Stare at Goats” sitting on my nightstand just waiting for me to read the damn thing. Well right underneath that book is another just waiting to be read: “King Dork.” I’ve had it for about two years now and still haven’t cracked the spine. But now that the movie adaptation is heating up, I might have to finally see what all the fuss is about.

Seth Gordon (FOUR CHRISTMASES) has signed on to direct KING DORK for Sony with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (ANCHORMAN) producing. The project was originally setup at Paramount Vantage, where Ferrell and his Gary Sanchez Productions had a first look deal, but when the indie label shut down, the project skipped over to Sony where Ferrell and McKay have made a number of films. The book, written by Frank Portman, is half a high school coming-of-age comedy and half a detective story as the 14-year-old tries to find out how his father died. No word yet on when filming might begin.
