Shaun chats with George

While we North Americans have had the company of George Romero’s LAND OF THE DEAD for some time now, over in the UK, they’re just getting ready for it. In anticipation for the release, Time Out Magazine scored what many fans of the zombie genre have been wanting: Simon Pegg (writer/star of SHAUN OF THE DEAD) in an interview with George Romero.

As most fans know, Pegg’s SHAUN OF THE DEAD is a tribute to much of Romero’s zombie films. This eventually led to a friendship between the two, with Pegg and SHAUN director Edgar Wright ending up in cameos in LAND OF THE DEAD. Not only that, but the two films (SHAUN and LAND) have a weird connection with each other, in that, to a degree, 9/11 influenced the two. Of course, people will say that about almost every film during that time, but it’s a connection, nonetheless.
